Santa is coming to Westhoughton - 2018 Visits

December is upon us, and as is tradition, Santa is out and about in Westhoughton travelling around on his sleigh, assisted by the Elves of the Rotary Club of Westhoughton, enchanting children at this special time as Father Christmas makes his list and prepares for his busiest of days on the 25th.

His work in Westhoughton starts on Saturday 8th December (outside Sainsbury's), during the evenings he visits local estates, continuing until the 22nd (Market Street), when he heads to Lapland to sort out all those presents for the good girls and boys. Listen out for clanging bells and festive songs.

As well as giving children a chance to see and meet Santa as his float travels around Westhoughton, this is a key fundraising activity for the Rotary Club of Westhoughton which uses the gratefully received donations to support local community groups and charities, handing out grants to 25-30 deserving groups doing good work at the Annual Presentation Evening in the Spring.

Last year people generously donated £7,431, with a local businessman boosting the fund donating a further £5,000.

Santa visiting WesthoughtonThe Rotary Club of Westhoughton is grateful to Bolton Kia for once again loaning a tow-car for Santa's sleigh. And of course, for local people's support and generosity during their collections.

Have a lovely Christmas!
